Principal's Message

Welcome to the 2026–2027 School Year!

Dear Cougar Families,
Welcome back to Sierra Oaks, and a special welcome to those who are new to our school! I
hope your summer was filled with rest, joy, and meaningful time together.
As I begin my fourth and a half year as principal, I remain incredibly proud to lead a school
committed to providing every student with a safe, nurturing, inclusive, joyful, and high-quality
learning environment.
This year, we will continue strengthening literacy through CKLA and mCLASS while introducing
Innovamat mathematics in TK–5 and Desmos in grades 6–8. Through Cougar Time and
focused support for multilingual learners, our staff will provide targeted instruction, intervention,
and enrichment to meet students’ individual needs.
We are also excited to expand student opportunities through middle school clubs, Advanced
Band, a dedicated art classroom, and inclusive Special Education services. We are fortunate to
welcome back our talented and experienced classroom teachers, along with new Special
Education Resource teachers who are committed to helping every student succeed.
Student and staff safety remains a top priority. We will continue reinforcing our PAWS Pathways,
implement our “Bell to Bell, No Cell” expectations, and install a new campus alarm and camera
system.
Thanks to the generous support of our PTA, students and families will continue to enjoy school
events, assemblies, and meaningful community-building experiences.
Our theme this year is JOY and CELEBRATION; finding joy in learning and celebrating the
growth, perseverance, progress, and accomplishments of our students.
Thank you for being an important part of our Cougar family. I look forward to partnering with you
to make the 2026–2027 school year one filled with learning, connection, growth, and joyful
experiences for every child.
